Once, the Sage Narada brings a special mango to the god Shiva and Parvati. A golden mango, with the power to give infinite wisdom to anyone who ate it. One condition: if cut or shared, the mango would lose its value. Shiva and Parvati decided not to eat the fruit, but immediately, Ganesha and Kartikeya, the two children, started fighting for it. Narada suggested a competition to win the mango:
whoever goes around the world three times and returns would eat it. Without saying another word, Kartikeya ran to his peacock
to flight around the world. Ganesha, with the head of an elephant, pot-bellied, and with short stubby legs, knew he could not run
faster than his brother, especially if on the back of his mouse. He was wondering what to do and, after reflecting, asked his parents
to sit close and he circled them three times, saying Shiva and Parvati were his whole world. In this way, Ganesha won the competition
and ate the mango.
